In the Portland area there are plenty of planned senior activities designed for your safety and fun. How about rediscovering the joys of bike riding with an instructional and guided tour along the Eastern Promenade bike/walking trail. For a minimal charge, you will be able to rent a bike and all the safety equipment necessary to enjoy a scenic cruise along Portland’s working harbor. You will even enjoy a healthy snack along the way. This is a great way to get outside and enjoy all the sites and sounds of Portland. Perhaps biking is not your thing, then how about a hiking and Geo-Caching trip through the trails of Camp Ketcha in Scarborough. This is a nice way to enjoy the fall foliage while taking a relaxing hike finding your way via GPS. The camp provides instruction on Geo-Caching which is easy and fun to do! If it is raining and you can’t enjoy the outside, stop in at the Scarborough Library the first Monday and second Thursday of each month and enjoy classic films along with refreshments. After the movies head over to Dunstan School Restaurant where seniors can enjoy lunch and dinner buffets at a discounted rate. Maine can be a fun and affordable getaway for seniors, come discover what you have been missing!
